Concerts I've Attended: II

Someone on social media asked what what our first concert.

In my case, that was easy.

Alice Cooper

Yep, I got to hear him perform "School's Out" live.

I was not worthy.

I got to thinking about other concerts I've attended, and remembered I had once compiled a list.

I have not attended as many concerts as some. And there are groups I wish I had been able to see - America and Creedence Clearwater Revival come to mind. But I did see some great shows. The best was Bruce Springsteen back in the 1970's before he hit it big. And I was at the Summer Jam at Watkins Glen that for a while was in the Guinness Book of World Records for having the largest concert crowd (beating Woodstock!).

I've updated the list with more recent concerts, and tried to put them all in rough chronological order.

Alice Cooper
The Allman Brothers
The Band
The Grateful Dead (fell asleep)
Christine Lavin
Santana
Crosby, Stills, and Nash (walked out they were so bad)
Jesse Colin Young
Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band (Best concert I ever attended)
Bob Dylan (a couple of times, including with the awesome Rolling Thunder Review)
John Denver
Charlie King (a couple of times)
John Michael Talbot
Pete Seeger
Tom Chapin
Peter, Paul, and Mary (Not only did I see them for two shows, I was part of the community choir that snag backup for them!)
Don Williams
The Urban Squirrels
The Buddhahood
The Dady Brothers (multiple times)
Roy Hurd (a couple of times)
Tom Paxton
Jerry Garcia (walked out because of the audience’s behavior)
Arlo Guthrie (a couple of times)
Alison Kraus and Union Station
Ralph Stanley
Down from the Mountain Tour
Allen Hopkins
Tommy Sands
Ringo Starr and his All-Starr Band
Vince Gill
Shared Genes
Wild Geese
The Tannahill Weavers
Gordon Munding

There may be more.
