Reading Tally So Far.

I began the year with various reading goals. As of today, I'm one sixth of the way through the year. So far, I'm right on target.

I wanted to read 60-70 titles this year totally 15,000 pages. I'm already up to 11 works totaling 2,831. That projects to 66 works totaling 16,986 pages - which would meet my goals.

I also set goals to read certain works and certain kinds of works. I've already met a few of those goals.

I wanted to read The Adventures of Tom Bombadil by J.R.R. Tolkien, and did.

I wanted to read at least one history book, and I did read The Guns of August by Barbara Tuchman.

I also wanted to read a secular biography, and met that goal with The Man Who Saved the Union: Ulysses Grant In War And Peace by H. W. Brands.

I had two saint-related goals: A biography/autobiography of a saint, and a book about a saint. I've already read Satan and the Saint (St. Jean Vianney) by Alex LaPerchi and Mission of Grace: The Story of Saint Marianne Cope by Fran Gangloff, OFS. I was not impressed by either of these books, so while technically meeting these goals I intend to read other works.

Some of the other works I read are:

Constitution on the Sacred Liturgy (Vatican II)

A Man of Faith (Father Patrick Peyton) by Jeanne Gosselin Arnold

The Practice of the Presence of God by Brother Lawrence

The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde

Missing, Presumed Lost by Fiorella De Maria

The Frog Prince and Other Poems by Stevie Smith
