Rereading


My post retirement reading goals include new reads and rereads. There are some great works I read years ago, decades ago in some cases, and it's always good to revisit old friends.

Earlier this year, for example, I reread the Lord of the Rings trilogy. I read the entire trilogy back in the 1970's, but the politics and the spirit of the times inspired me to reread them now. Ditto for Brave New World.

In my pile of books to read there are several more rereads awaiting, including:

The Hobbit
Fahrenheit 451
The Bridge of San Luis Rey
A Canticle for Leibowitz
The Brothers Karamazov
The Long Loneliness

A worthy list.
